We have tested 674 samples; 11 have tested positive of Coronavirus disease. All are Kenyans. One case has tested negative bringing the total recoveries to 40.
COVID-19 UPDATE
All 11 are Kenyans: 6 males and 5 females aged between 1-45 years old.
Four (4) of the cases emanated from our mandatory quarantine centers, while seven (7) were picked by our surveillance teams.
Eleven new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows:
- Mandera- 4
- Mombasa- 3
- Nairobi- 2
- Nakuru- 1
- Machakos- 1
Four have a history of travel from UAE.
We have 142 cases admitted in various hospitals, two are in critical conditions; Ag. DG Dr. Patrick Amoth.
Covid-19 update:Mass testing has started. We can now test up to 1000 per day; CS Mutahi.

I want to acknowledge the role played by the parliamentary leadership & Committees of both Houses for overall response & intervention measures in regard to Covid-19.
The Burial of CoVid-19 person in Siaya County has raised concerns and we are working with the county to address the issue; CS Mutahi.
While we appreciate that times are hard, we appeal to employers to be considerate and to negotiate with their employees during this period.
We acknowledge the hotels that have expressed their willingness to support CoVid-19 interventions by providing food support to 2,000 healthcare workers through the Ministry of Tourism.

Kenyans of goodwill have come out in large numbers to offer material & financial support, to the vulnerable members of our society. We want to appreciate them for their generosity & appeal to others to emulate, through the Kenya COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
We appeal to foreign nationals in the country to comply with the Public Health Act, in the fight against this disease.
Countries that are unable to convince their nationals to do so are free to evacuate them.
