Today, we have 278 people testing positive of Covid-19 from 4,074 samples that were run in the last 24 hours. This now brings 5,811 the total number of confirmed cases in the country, from a cumulative figure of 162, 478 tests done so far.
Out of today’s cases, all, except (2) are Kenyans, 181 are males and 97 females.
The youngest is a one (1) year old infant, while the oldest is 84.

Today, we are happy to report that we have discharged 31 patients from our various hospitals, bringing to 1,936 the total number of those who have so far recovered from the disease.
We have lost another 4 patients to the disease, bringing our fatalities to 141. Our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the departed.
We have noted with a lot of concern, incidences of COVID-19 infections, that have arisen due to cross infections within our health care facilities. This is a matter the Ministry is taking seriously.
We are appealing to all hospitals, public & private, to be extremely careful, & put in-place measures that reduces the slightest possibility of cross-infection.
We are reminding all County Governments that they must have a dedicated healthcare facility for COVID-19 cases.
Shalom Hospital has not been closed, but has been placed under quarantine the status of the 125 inpatients.
Medical personnel are working on shift basis with the proper protective gear to ensure that the patients are well taken care of.
However the hospital shall not admit anymore patients until it is proven there is no more cross infection.
