From today’s 418 cases 408 are Kenyans and 10 are foreigners, while 263 are males, and 155 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old infant, while the oldest is 86.

The 418 cases are from;

So far Nakuru has 195 cases,
Uasin Gishu 166,
Kilifi 95,
Makueni 72,

Garissa 36,
Narok 35,
Siaya 31,
Meru 25,
Lamu 24,
Laikipia 22,

We are delighted to inform you that 494 patients have recovered. Out of this number 465 are from the home based care program, while 29 have been discharged from various hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,616.

Today we have lost 4 patients to the disease, bringing our cumulative total to 238. We sent our condolences to the family and friends of all those who have lost their loved ones.

Nairobi and Mombasa Counties continue to record the highest attack rates of COVID-19, at 176.1 and 151.9 per 100,000 population, respectively, when compared to 28.1 per 100,000 for the rest of the country.

Yesterday Nairobi had 7,744 cases, followed by Mombasa with 1,835, while Kiambu, which borders Nairobi is third with 769. Kajiado and Busia being at the border points, have recorded 694 and 635 cases respectively.

Machakos, which shoulders a lot of cross border trucks in Athi River, has 372 cases, with Migori also at the border, coming in seventh, with 215 cases.

This situation should jolt us into action, & ensure we strictly adhere to the containment measures spelt out, to curtail any further spread; Dr. Rashid Aman.

We shall not tire in reminding you, to strictly adhere to the containment measures, of washing our hands with soap and running water, maintaining social and physical distance, wearing face masks in public places at all times and avoiding all forms of gatherings.
