397 more Covid-19 cases in Kenya now 14168 – Health CAS Rashid Aman
Today, 397 people have tested positive for the disease from a sample size of 3,637 tested. This now brings to 14,168 our case load in the country and our cumulative tests now stand at 249,998; Dr. Rashid Aman, CAS Health.
From the 397 cases, 389 are Kenyans and 8 are foreigners, 236 are males, and 161 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old infant, while the oldest is 90.
The 397 cases are distributed in the Counties of Nairobi 239, Kiambu 33, Machakos 27, Nyeri 17, Busia 16, Nakuru 12, Mombasa 12, Kajiado 10, Migori 8, Uasin Gishu 8, Kericho 5, Narok 3, Laikipia 3, Kisii 1, Kisumu 1, Lamu 1, and Nyandurua 1.
Nairobi has 239 cases in Westlands 22, Langata 21, Makadara 21, Embakasi East 19, Dagoretti North 18, Embakasi West 18, Kasarani 15, Embakasi South 14, Roysambu 13, Kibra 12, Starehe 12, Dagoretti South 10, Embakasi Central 10, Kamukunji 10, Embakasi North 9, Ruaraka 8 &Mathare 7
In Kiambu, the 33 cases are in Kiambu Town 8, Kiambaa 7, Kabete 4, Kikuyu 4, Ruiru 4, Juja 2, Limuru 2, Gatundu South and Lari 1 case each.
✅Machakos has 27 cases in Athi River 24, Machakos, Kathiani & Mwala (1) case each.
✅Nyeri, 17 cases in Nyeri Central.
✅Busia, has 16 cases in Matayos 11, Teso North 3 & Teso South 2.
✅Nakuru, has 12 cases in Naivasha 5, Nakuru West 4, and Nakuru East 3.
✅Mombasa has 12 cases in Mvita 10 & Kisauni 2.
✅Kajiado,10 cases in Kajiado East 4, Kajiado North 4 & Loitokitok 2.
✅Migori, 8 cases in Kuria West 5 & Suna East 3.
✅Uasin Gishu, 8 cases in Ainabkoi 5, Turbo 2 & Kesses 1
✅Kericho, has 5 cases in Buret 4 & Ainamoi 1.
In Laikipia, all the 3 cases are from Laikipia East while in the Counties of Kisii, Nyandurua, Kisumu, and Lamu, have (1) case each in Kitutu Chache South, Olkalau, Nyando, and Lamu West respectively.
I am happy to inform you that 642 patients have recovered. Out of this number 587 are from the home based care program, while 55 have been discharged from various hospitals, bringing our total number of recoveries to 6,258; CAS, Dr. Rashid Aman.
Today, we have lost 12 patients to the disease. Our fatality now stands at 250. We want to pass our sincere condolences to the family & friends of all those who have lost their loved ones.
