16 new Coronavirus cases confirmed in Kenya bringing the total number to 142. 15 are Kenyans and 1 Nigerian National.
11 have history of travel, 5 are locally transmitted. 9 are from quarantine facilities and 7 from contact tracing. Contact tracing ongoing” – Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi.
In the last 24 hours, 530 samples have been tested. Out of these, 16 people have tested positive for the virus. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Kenya to 142; Dr. Mwangangi CAS Health.
Nine of positive cases were identified in quarantine areas. Social distancing must be strictly adhered to in all quarantine facilities & we will not wavier the extension period of 14 more days for those who have failed to observe the laid down guidelines.
”Persons who pass away due to Coronavirus will have to be buried within 24 hours from the time of death. Burial ceremony will be attended by 15 members of the immediate family.”
Action will be taken against Private hospitals that are overcharging patients who have been admitted in their facilities.
