62 more Covid-19 cases,3 recoveries,now 1348 in Kenya – Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman

Today, 62 people have tested positive of COVID-19, 59 are Kenyans and the rest foreigners. Kenya Coronavirus update by CAS, Dr. Rashid Aman.

In a summary the COVID-19 UPDATE today in Kenya is as follows:
2,293 samples tested in the past 24 hours
Total samples tested so far 64,264
62 new positive cases today
1,348 Total confirmed cases
3 recoveries today
405 Total discharged and recovered
52 Total fatalities so far

Out of the positive cases, 59 are Kenyans while 3 are foreign nationals.

45 are males while 17 are females.

The age range is between 6 years old for youngest, and 64 years for the oldest.

The positive cases are from the following counties;
Nairobi 23,
Mombasa 16,
Kwale 8,
Kiambu 6,
Kajiado 6 and
Kitui 3.

in Nairobi, the cases are distributed in the following sub-counties;
Umoja (6) cases;
Kibra (6);
Eastleigh, (3),
Dagoretti North (2),
Langata (2),
Westlands (2),
Starehe and Embakasi East one (1) case each.

In Mombasa, the cases are from;
Changamwe 9),
Jomvu (3),
Nyali (3) and
Mvita one (1).

In Kwale;
Msambweni (4) and
Lunga lunga (4).

In Kiambu;
Lari (5) cases and
Ruiru (1) one case.

In Kajiado, the cases are from;
Kajiado Central (4) and Kajiado East (1).

In Kitui;
Miambani in Kitui Rural (3) cases.

We are glad to inform you that we have discharged another 3 patients who have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of those who have recovered to 405.

We thank our healthcare workers for the good job.

Community deaths associated with COVID-19 have reduced, which means the level of awareness has increased; Ag. DG Dr. Patrick Amoth.

We’re appealing to Kenyans in high risk areas to come forward & be tested. The cost of testing, quarantine, isolation & treatment in a Government facility will be met by the Government.
Any information to the contrary is false & is aimed at misleading Kenyans.

We glad that majority of Kenyans have responded to our call to come forward for testing. This is commendable & we continue to appeal to all Kenyans to come out and get tested.

The true picture of this disease in our country will only be known through the tests we are currently conducting; Dr. Rashid Aman, CAS Health.

In the past two & a half months of combating this virus we have made good progress in the level of preparedness & management & our credit goes to our committed healthcare workers, individuals & corporate entities, who have worked tirelessly to contain the spread of this virus.

We want to reiterate that, it is important to provide accurate information, because it is only through this that contact tracing is possible. Providing wrong information means that, such individuals are continuing to spread the virus to their loved ones, their friends & community.

Our transport corridor is important to the prevention of COVID-19 especially the border points; CS Transport James Macharia.

Malava border is the serious issue we are dealing with at the moment because of the delays we suffer through the corridor. The back log will take 5 days to clear. We urge our drivers to do their tests in Kenya as we deal with grievances at hand; CS Adan Mohamed.
