59 more test positive for Coronavirus now 2021 in Kenya
59 more people have tested positive for Coronavirus from 1,518 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Total samples tested is 80,054.
The total case load in the country to date is 2,021.
The positive cases are distributed in the counties as follows;
?Nairobi, 29
?Mombasa, 14
?Turkana, 6
?Busia, 4
?Taita Taveta, 2
?Kajiado, 2
?Kiambu & Kilifi, 1 case each.
Nairobi cases are from;
?Ruaraka, 8 (all of them from mandatory quarantine facility) ?Westlands, 6
?Dagoretti North, 4
?Langata, 4
?Kibra, 3
?Embakasi East, Karasani, Kamkunji & Makadara, all have 1 case each.
In Mombasa, the 14 cases are from;
?Mvita, 6
?Kisauni, Nyali, Jomvu & Changamwe, 2 cases each.
?In Turkana, all the 6 are at Nadapal Point of Entry.
In Busia the cases are from; ?Malaba POE, 3
?Alupe quarantine, 1
?Taita Taveta has 2 cases from Mwatate.
?Kajiado, has two cases from Kajiado East.
?Kiambu, has 1 case from Thika.
?Kilifi has 1 case from Rabai.
Age range of the cases;
?10 years for the youngest, & ?76 years old for the oldest,
?24 cases are females, & ?35 are males.
Our number of recoveries continues to grow. Today, we discharged 8 patients who have recovered from the disease. This brings the total number of recoveries to 482.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our healthcare workers who have made this possible.
Our condolences & sympathies goes to the bereaved families & friends of 5 patients, who have succumbed to the disease from facilities in Mombasa & Nairobi.
This number elevates our case fatality rate to 69.
As Government, we want to thank Kenyans for winning several battles in this fight, but the main campaign is far from over.
Let us continue to abide by the various regulations &
observe the containment measures advocated for by MOH_Kenya – Washing of hands, maintaining of social & physical distance, high standards of hygiene & proper wearing of masks, among others.

We also recognize & commend all those who have selflessly & generously supported the Coronavirus Response Emergency Fund; from the contribution of Ksh. 500 made by 11-Year-Old Zawadi Mutua, to Ksh. 300M personal contribution by Dr. James Mwangi & family; President Uhuru Kenyatta.
I direct the Ministry of Interior & Ministry of Health (MOH_Kenya) to continue & hasten their engagement with religious leaders; with the objective of developing protocols that will be adopted to guide a more participatory way of worship while guaranteeing the safety of worshipers; President Uhuru.
I have directed the Ministry of Education to fast-tracks & finalizes the ongoing consultations with the stakeholders that will provide an appropriate calendar for gradual resumption of education in the country – President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Regarding COVID-19, We have reduced taxes to enhance affordability of all products by reducing VAT from 16% to 14%, & increased the earnings & purchasing power of all employees by reducing PAYE… President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This CORONA Moment we are in is, yes, a DARK moment, alright, but the founders of our nation require us to be at our very BEST – President Uhuru Kenyatta.
