137 more Coronavirus cases in Kenya now 3594 – Health CS Mutahi Kagwe
Today, we have 137 people testing positive from 3,167 number of samples.
The overall burden in the country now stands at 3,594 from 115,336 number of samples.
All the positive cases are Kenyans, with 102 being males and 35 females. The youngest is one year old and the oldest 82 years.
The 137 positive cases are from:
▪️Nairobi, 92
▪️Mombasa, 16,
▪️Kajiado, 15,
▪️Busia, 4
▪️Kiambu, 4
▪️Kilifi, Nakuru, Nyamira, Uasin Gishu, Siaya & Muranga, (1), case each.
- Nyamira is the latest county to report a COVID-19 case, bringing the total affected counties to 39.
Nairobi, 92 cases are from; ▪️Mathare, 25
▪️Embakasi East, 10
▪️Kibra, & Westlands 9 cases each,
▪️Langata, 8
▪️Ruaraka, 6
▪️Dagoretti North, 5
▪️Embakasi South, Kasarani & Makadara, 4 cases each, ▪️Embakasi West, & Kamukunji, 3 cases each, ▪️Roysambu & Starehe, 1 case each.
In Mombasa, the 16 cases are from;
▫️Kisauni, 6
▪️Changamwe, & Mvita, 3 cases each,
▪️Nyali, & Likoni, 2 cases each.
In Kajiado, 15 cases are from; ▪️Loitokitok, 7
▪️Kajiado Central 6
▪️Kajiado East & Kajiado North, 1 case each.
▪️All the 4 cases from Busia are of truck drivers from Malaba POE.
Kiambu has 4 cases from: ▪️Kiambaa, 2 &
▪️Kiambu North 2.
▪️Kilifi has one case from Kaloleni,
▪️Nakuru, has one case from Naivasha,
▪️Nyamira, has one case from Nyamira South.
▪️Uasin Gishu, has one case from Turbo of truck driver, ▪️Siaya, has one case from Alego Usonga
▪️Muranga, one case from Maragwa.
We are happy to report that we have discharged 32 patients from various hospitals, bringing the tally of recoveries to 1,253.
We have lost 3 more patients to the disease, bringing the total number of those who have succumbed to 103.
We sent our condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
Cutting the cycle of COVID-19 transmission, cannot be won by Government alone, without the involvement of the people. Success will depend on the level of involvement of the people; CS Health Mutahi Kagwe.
