603 new Covid-19 cases in Kenya now 13,353

Today we have recorded another high of 603 positive cases from a sample size of 5, 724 tested in the last 24 hours. We now have 13,353 confirmed positive cases, while our cumulative sample tested has risen to 243,887.

In terms of gender 361 are males and 242 are females. The youngest is a 7 month old infant, while the oldest is 86 years.

Nairobi is leading with 441 cases, Kiambu 44, Kajiado 29, Mombasa 22, Nakuru 17, Kilifi 10, Busia 7, Machakos 6, Kisii 6, Makueni 5, Muranga 3, Nyeri 2, Bungoma 2, Kakamega 1, Kericho 1, Kisumu 1, Kwale 1, Lamu 1, Narok 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Garissa 1 & Uasin Gishu 1.

Nairobi cases are in
Langata 43 & Westlands 43, Dagoretti North 38, Starehe 34, Kibra 33,Ruaraka 33, Embakasi East 28, Makadara 26, Roysambu 25, Embakasi South 23, Embakasi West 23, Kasarani 23, Embakasi North 21, Kamukunji 20, Dagoretti South 15, Embakasi Central 9 & Mathare 4.

Kiambu, has 44 new cases in; Kikuyu, Ruiru and Thika 10 cases each, Kabete & Kiambu Town 4 cases each, Juja, and Kiambaa 2 cases each.

In Kajiado, the 29, cases are in; Kajiado North 16, Kajiado Central 9 & Kajiado East (4).

Mombasa, has 22 cases in; Mvita 11, Jomvu 4, Changamwe 3, Likoni & Nyali 2 cases each.

Nakuru, 17 cases are in; Naivasha 15 & Nakuru West 2.

Kilifi, 10 cases are in; Kilifi South 8 & Kilifi North 2.

Busia, 7 cases are in Teso North 5, Matayos 1 & Teso South 1.

Machakos, has 6 cases in; Athi River 5 & Masinga 1.

Kisii, has 6 cases in Kituti Chache South.

Makueni has 5 cases in Kibwezi West 3 & Kibwezi East 2.

Muranga has 3 cases in Gatanga, Kandara and Kihara one case each.

▪️Bungoma, 2 cases in Kanduyi.
▪️Kakamega 1 case in Lurambi.
▪️Kericho 1 case in Ainamoi.
▪️Kisumu 1 case in Kisumu Central.
▪️Kwale 1 case in Lungalunga. ▪️Lamu 1 case in Lamu West. ▪️Narok 1 case in Narok West.
▪️Tharaka Nithi 1 in Chuka.

▪️Uasin Gishu has 1 case in Kapseret.
▪️Garissa, 1 case in town.

On a positive note, 682 patients have recovered from the disease. From this figure, 562 have been under home-based care, while 120 have been discharged from various hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries so far to 5,122.

Sadly, we have lost another 9 patients to the disease, bringing our fatality count to 234. We send our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
