796 more test positive for Covid-19 in Kenya now 15,601 – Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi

Today, we have recorded the highest number of positive cases since this pandemic struck.

Out of 6,754 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 796 people have tested positive for the disease. This brings to 15,601 the number of positive cases in the country so far, pushing our cumulative samples tested to 261,027. Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi

From the cases 793 are Kenyans while three are foreigners, and 503 are males and 293 are females. The youngest case is a one-year-old infant, while the oldest is 87.

In Kisii, all the (3) cases are Kitutu Chache South.

In Muranga the 2 cases are in Kigumo (1) and Kiharu (1).

In Siaya the 2 cases are in Alego Usonga (1) and Bondo (1).

Embu, Kisumu, Nyeri and Trans Nzoia have (1) case each.

Today, 378 patients have recovered from the virus, 199 are from the home based care program, while 179 are from various hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,135. Sadly, we have lost 3 patients from the disease, bringing our total fatality to 263.
