Safaricom awards customers free calls and data on 20 years birthday

Telecommunications giant Safaricom PLC has announced to give free calls and data to its loyal customers on its 20 years birthday celebrations that took place at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi.
Safaricom which boasts of 35 million subscribers in Kenya said all its customers will be enjoying one free call of up to 20 minutes within the next 30 days as they celebrate 20 years of service.
The 20 free minutes offer is a gift from Safaricom as it celebrates 20 years anniversary since its establishment in Kenya in the year 2000.
Customers also turning 20 years and those who have been subscribers for 20 years will receive 20 GB free data valid for 7 days.
“Starting tomorrow (from October 28, 2020), for one million customers every day, their first call of the day is going to be on Safaricom up to 20 minutes. Safaricom is not going to charge you,” said the Safaricom Chief Customer Officer Sylvia Mulinge.
She said Safaricom customers would receive a notification of their free call. “We will do this for the next 30 days or so until we cover the entire base of 30 million-plus customers,” she said.
Mulinge also said that a promotion dubbed 20@20 will enable customers to purchase 20 minutes of call time and 20 megabytes (MBs) at KSh20. For the next 90 days, customers purchasing personalized Tunukiwa voice offers will also receive free 20 minutes to call across all networks.
Lucky customers who also visited Safaricom shops were lucky to be awarded with free giveaways as a small token of appreciation on their birthday.
