Kenya Airways launches direct cargo flight from Mombasa to the UAE

Kenya Airways will initially run one weekly cargo flight from Mombasa ferrying mostly tropical fish and other cargo to Sharjah International Airport in the UAE and will gradually increase frequencies and destinations as demand grows.
Kenya Airways Cargo will work closely with fish and sea food farmers to maximize on the same-day perishables supply chain to cater for the consumers in the Middle East region.
The launch of the inaugural Kenya Airways cargo flight from the Moi International Airport in Mombasa to The UAE is timely and will provide a much needed boost to our economy said Mombasa Governor Joho.
It greatly complimentsefforts in the establishment of an integrated Fresh Produce Freight Terminal as part of the Value Addition Centers Program within the 2020/21 financial year.

As a result, we will be able to provide short connecting times to and from these locations. Previously, all traffic departing from Johannesburg had to pass through our Nairobi hub. With this new development, cargo from South Africa will now fly directly to these markets #KQCargo
