Car plunges into the Indian Ocean one succumbing to death

Sad news has broke today of a white Toyota Vitz Car KCY 556B that plunged into the Indian Ocean at Makupa Causeway in Mombasa.

Its reported the car was coming from Changamwe towards Mombasa Island.

The rescued woman and child were rushed to the hospital. The car is reported to have been speeding.

It is reported that Winnie Achieng 33, whose car plunged in Indian Ocean is now dead.

The lady has died at the Coast General Hospital the police have confirmed.

Mombasa OCP Eliud Monari has confirmed the woman has since died.

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has sent his condolences to the family of Winnie Achieng.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and friend of Ms. Winnie Achieng who passed on following a harrowing car accident at the Makupa Causeway this morning. It is indeed a painful ordeal to lose a loved one in this manner.

I humbly urge all road users to strictly adhere to the traffic rules and excercise extreme caution while driving during this festive season, and always.
