The latest full list of Senior Counsels in Kenya 2020
For a lawyer to qualify to be a Senior Counsel one must have 15 years professional experience as an advocate of the High Court, be a legal practitioner who trains junior members and has took part in arguing serious and precedent suits before Superior Courts.
Top lawyers who apply to be senior counsels are vetted and selected by the Senior Counsel Committee then names forwarded to the Chief Justice who then shares them with the President to be gazetted making them then most senior lawyers in the country.
The benefit of being a Senior Counsel is that it opens opportunities to more business as SC are considered highly professional with their experience and high integrity.
According to the Law Society of Kenya here is the latest full list of the current Senior Counsels in Kenya minus deceased Mutula Kilonzo and Joe Okwach.
