685 more cases, 105 recoveries and 7 succumb to Covid-19 in Kenya
Today, 685 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 4,912 tested in the last 24 hours. This is a positivity rate of 12%, up from around 4% when we relaxed containment measures.
This brings to 44,881 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country. Our cumulative tests are now 621,976. From the cases, 635 are Kenyans while 50 are foreigners. In terms of gender 456 are males and 229 are females. The youngest is a one-year old baby while the oldest is 99 years.
Distribution of the cases by Counties is as follows; Nairobi 141, Nakuru 127, Mombasa 73, Trans Nzoia 61, , Kisii 37, Kiambu 30, Kakamega 27, Kisumu 27, Busia 20, Kilifi 18, Nandi 18, Nyeri 14, Turkana 14, Nyamira 10, Kajiado 9, Taita Taveta 9, Bungoma 8, Uasin Gishu 6, Laikipia 6, Machakos 6, Baringo 5, Murang’a 3, Meru 3, Wajir 3, Kitui 2, Kwale 2, Makueni 2, Siaya 1, Elgeyo Marakwet 1, Vihiga 1 and Isiolo 1.
105 people have recovered from the disease, 73 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 32 have been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 31,857.
Unfortunately, we have lost 7 patients to the disease bringing the fatality to 832. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.
