Jubilee Party Secretary General and CS without portfolio CS Raphael Tuju involved in an accident as he was heading to Mzee Moi’s final send off.
The road crash happened at Magina area on the Nairobi to Nakuru highway.
Reports indicate that his car came into head on with a matatu early this morning where he sustained minor injuries.
The CS was with his driver and bodyguards at the time of the accident. Raphael Tuju has been rushed to Kijabe Hospital and is set to be airlifted to Nairobi for further treatment.
Cabinet secretaries James Macharia, Amina Mohamed, Governor Alfred Mutua and Hon. Dan Maanzo were at Kijabe hospital where CS Raphael Tuju underwent an operation.
The CS was then airlifted to Nairobi for further observation and treatment at the Karen Hospital.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga sent the CS Raphael Tuju good will messages by wishing him,his driver, bodyguard and all the passengers involved in the accident a quick recovery.
Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru also wished the Secretary General of Jubilee Party and Cabinet Secretary, his driver and all the passengers involved a quick recovery on behalf of Kirinyaga people.
Deputy President William Ruto has also sent prayers and best wishes to CS and Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and all those involved in the morning accident at Magina in Lari, Kiambu County and wished them a quick recovery.
CS Raphael Tuju bodyguard was airlifted to the Forces memorial hospital and the 18 casualties admitted at Kijabe Hospital are in a stable condition according to Ken Muma, the CEO Kijabe Hospital. We wish them all a quick recovery.
The latest update is that the CS has been moved to the Karen Hospital ICU.
