1395 more test positive for Coronavirus in Kenya
Today, 1,395 people have tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 7,635 tested in the last 24 hours. This brings to 55,192 the number of confirmed positive cases in the country. Our cumulative tests are now 695,087. 1,337 are Kenyans and 58 are foreigners.
Distribution of the cases by Counties is as follows; Nairobi 569, Nakuru 149, Kiambu 148, Mombasa 147, Uasin Gishu 60, Kilifi 41, Kericho 30, Laikipia 27, Machakos 26, Kajiado 25, Kisumu 19, Meru 18, Kakamega 15, Busia 14, Bungoma 13, Samburu 12, Nyeri 11, Siaya 10…Tharaka Nithi 9, Kisii 7, Bomet 6, Murang’a 6, Taita Taveta 6, Homabay 4, Kwale 4, Elgeyo Marakwet 3, Nandi 3, Embu 2, Baringo 2, Nyamira 2, Wajir 2, Migori 1, Nyandarua 1, Trans Nzoia 1, Narok 1 and Kirinyaga 1.
1,087 patients have recovered from the disease, 1,019 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 68 have been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 36,963.
15 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatality to 996. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones.
Currently, there are 1,241 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 4,495 are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 55 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 32 of whom are on ventilatory support and 23 on supplemental oxygen.
45 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen but not in the ICU, while 11 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
